I was thinking that through looking at groups of formally similar works made by artists over relatively brief periods of time, we could more easily grasp and enjoy the way permutations in their thinking processes and/or subject matters move through their larger and smaller concerns. It seemed easier to do this with works on paper as to the immediacy of the medium and the intimacy of the scale.
